H-shaped steel is a type of steel beam made of rolled steel, named for its cross-sectional shape that is the same as the letter "H". Since all parts of the H-shaped steel are arranged at right angles, the H-shaped steel is widely used due to its strong bending resistance, simple construction, cost saving, and light structural weight. The cross-sectional shape of H-shaped steel is reasonable in structure and excellent in mechanical properties. Since the inner and outer sides of the legs are parallel and the ends of the legs are at right angles, 25% of welding and riveting work can be saved. Large bearing capacity and good section stability, it is often used in large buildings such as factories, as well as bridges, ships, lifting and transportation machinery, equipment foundations, brackets, foundation piles, etc.
Channel steel is widely used in many applications. There are three main types of surface treatments, coded according to condition. Infrequently used blackened or untreated steel, without any protective layer, is prone to rust. Hot-dip galvanizing and priming are common treatments. A galvanized finish resists environmental and weather corrosion, and a primer is even better. You can choose any one according to your application.
